Director's Bio

In the summer of 2005, Mark Thimijan set out to direct his most ambitious short film to date.  This self-funded film was shot in the director's hometown of Lincoln, as well as the beautiful sandhills of western Nebraska.  Filming "The Girl who could run 600 miles per hour" completed the director's "Working man Trilogy".

Thimijan's style has been developed over the years as a result of countless hours studying every aspect of the cinematic revolution. Some of his major influences have been Werner Herzog, Luis Bunuel, Claude Chabrol, Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, and David Lynch.

Mark has recently finished the final draft of his feature-length screenplay "The Aesthetics of Prosthetics". This film contemplates serious questions of identity, struggle, and sacrifice experienced in the painful process of making realtionships.
